Hi everyone,
Hele started this open tag a few days ago, and I've finally got round to doing it. It's a really great tag, so thanks Hele.... No makeup allowed I understand, so I'll have to get my thinking cap on lol. (In no particular order!)
1. My boyfriend - after having a crap relationship while I was married and meeting my current partner, I finally really realise what I was missing out on, and how good things can be in a trusting and happy secure relationship. My partner is my best friend, and he gives the best hugs ever. He looks after me and does all the cooking too because I work shifts. This is one of the many things he does that makes me happy!
2. My Family - I've been through some really crap times, such as separating from and divorcing my husband, deciding to leave uni in the middle of a medical degree and doing nursing instead, and all the other little ups and downs life throws at you. My family have always and will always be there for me. They are my rocks and I know they will never let me down. They make me feel loved and important and pick me up when I fall...
3. My Bed - Especially in this weather, I just love lying in my warm snuggly bed with a nice hot drink watching trashy morning TV on my days off/ prior to a late shift, and especially if it's raining outside... It just makes it seem extra snuggly, warm and cosy.
4. Other Peoples Birthdays - I don't really like being the centre of attention and never really know how to react appropriately to presents when it's my birthday - I know it sounds strange, but I feel really self concious and I always feel I come off looking either underwhelmed or like I'm over compensating... Conversely I love giving people something I've spent time choosing for someone that I know they will really love.
5. Coming Home After Work - I love the feeling of leaving work and coming home after a hectic stressful shift - I feel like I'm going to my little sanctuary. It's not grand or special or outstanding in any way, but it's home.
6. Family Guy - I could literally watch this programme over and over again for hours on end. It just cracks me up, it's so random! I love Stewie and his little plots for world domination...
7. Forensic TV Programmes - I'm not good in the mornings and am a total night owl - I love staying up really late and watching those forensic crime programmes on random Sky channels. It just all fascinates me and I think it harks back to a secret ambition I had when I was about 12 to work in forensics. Oh well!
8. Minimalism - My ultimate goal is to have a tidy uncluttered home, which at the same time is comfortable. Perhaps minimalism is the wrong word, but I hate having lots of 'stuff' everywhere. Unfortunately I live in a small flat with a man who has more stuff than me, much of it in the form of random wires and bits of hard drives (He's a computer engineer...), which I just have to try to deal with the best I can, and limit its spread!
9. Books - I've always loved reading various styles of books, ranging from stuff by Marian keyes to classical literature. I've been known to get through a book a day when I'm on holiday relaxing at the poolside. I'm currently reading the twilight books, which are quite good for teen vampire books. My all time favourite book is probably Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, or Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy.
10. Going to see Ballets - Not something I do regularly, but every now and then, Me and my Mum love to go and see ballets together. It is so captivating watching such gracefull dancing. I have always wanted to see the ENB's version of Dracula, but missed out on the chance to see it...
11. Sky + - I'm relatively new to Sky TV - My boyfriend was on at me to get it, but I thought it wasn't going to be worth it. I am so glad he convinced me and we got the sky plus box though lol. Doing shifts meant I always used to miss my favourite programmes, but now I don't have to...
12 - Gangster Flicks - Funnily enough I've never seen the Godfather films, but I love other Gangster flicks - I recently watched The Departed for the first time, and It was fabulous. I am a general fan of gorey flicks but I don't know why - I actually hate cheesy teen horror such as Scream or The Hills Have Eyes... But for some reason I love Gangster films. I suspect it's because they often feature Robert De Niro, whom I have a little soft spot for...
13. Bravissimo - As I have mentioned before, I have comedy sized boobs (32HH) and this is the only shop that sells attractive bra's in my size, which don't look like they are formed from reinforced scaffolding... They also sell dresses and shirts that actually fit over 'Phil and Grant'.
14. Girlie Lunches With my Mum and Sister - Something we don't get to do very often as I often end up working weekends due to my job, but I love just relaxing over a nice long lunch in Cafe Rouge with a little potter around the shops afterwards...
Hope you enjoyed - I'm going to keep this tag open to all who want to do it!
