MAC and Superdrug Hauls...

Hi everyone, for various reasons after work today I decided to get a few treaties for myself so made a quick trip into town to MAC and Superdrug...

First off Superdrug!

I have to say, I've not been to Superdrug to seriously look for makeup in such a long time. I usually get a dazzle dust or a mascara, but thats about it. However I was educated by lovely bloggers and youtubers such as lollipop26, sirvinya and panacea81 that it is worth a look, and I am soooo glad I did. There are some great things to be had there!

Today I picked up :-

  1. Bloom Lip Gloss in 'Girlie' for £6 (on sale - usually £8). This is a fab brightish pink colour which goes on quite sheer and can be layered over lippies etc. Bloom is an Australian brand, which was sold in Boots about 5 years ago and then disappeared for some reason... I always loved the lipglosses, they are scented and flavoured with mandarin and vanilla oils and come in a great range of colours - nudes, pinks, reds and darker shades...

  2. Barry M Lip Paint in 132, a GORGEOUS shade, which I wasn't sure would look as good on as I hoped but I love it! As advised by Lollipop26, this is a dupe of NARS Galaxy Girl. I LOVE IT!!!! This could be the colour that begins my conversion back to lipstick -I've been a pure gloss girl for about the last 3 years!

  3. MeMeMe Nail Polish in 'Rio' (shade 41) - A metallic dark electro blue. I don't know why, but I really love blue nail polish. Maybe because I used to wear it when I was a teenager lol!

  4. Sleek Eye Liner, Ink Pot in Yellow - This comes with a little mini brush and cost £3.99. I know yellow might be a strange choice but I bought MAC shadow in Chrome too, so I thought I could use this as a base/ undereye liner to creat some kind of funky looks! This range is WELL WORTH a look - I've never seen it before but it was recommended by Sirvinya, and it seems such good value for money!

  5. Sleek Eye Dust in 'Spellbound' - Seems to be similar to 'Beauty Marked by MAC but in pigment/loose shadow form. Similar to a dazzle dust but about three times as big for only £2.99!

  6. Sleek eye palette 'Divine Chaos' - Contains 12 x 1.1g pans of eyeshadow in a range of fairly bright colours - two other palettes are also available. The shadows are well pigmented, and this cost a mere £4.49!

I will be going to Superdrug more often!!!

Next, MAC... I was intending to simply exchange my full coverage foundation which I had bought in NW20 for NC20 as I felt the NW would look pink on me - I have 'issues' with my undertones lol!

  1. Paintpot in 'Painterly', for use as an eyeshadow base - I'm also wondering if this could be used as a stand in for 'lip erase'... Hmmm!
  2. Full Coverage foundation in NC20.
  3. Mineralise Skinfinish in 'Soft and Gentle' - I have wanted this for ever but they have not had it in for months now - Yay! So glad I got this for my pale as heck skin!
  4. Powder Blush in 'Well Dressed' - Saw this on various blogs and I lurve it - might be my new favourite!!!
  5. Cream Colour Base in 'Improper Copper' - Have been wanting to try one of these for ages and I fell in love with this colour - seems like a slightly more shimmery and coppery version of 'Rubenesque' paintpot... Lush!
  6. LipGlass in 'Posh it Up' - Lovely pinky peachy shade which is fairly highly pigmented and has gold reflects in it. Would look really great over the Barry M Lip Paint...
  7. Pro Palette eye shadow pans in 'Chrome' and 'Samoa Silk' - I have wanted both of these for ages, and decided to just get them today... I will find a way to make Chrome work on me without looking silly lol!

If anyone wants a review of any of these products just let me know!

Also, any other great products from Superdrug I should know about?

Oooh that is so weird! I was planning on posting a blog about how I use Paintery as a sub for Lip Erase! Have you tried it yet?! I became hooked on it about a week ago, although it doesn't taste particularly nice!

@ emmajane - does it work? I've not tried it yet!

Hey, nice blog :) Thanks for following mine! So does that sleek palette get your approval? I really wanted to pick one up, I couldn't decide which, although I was leaning more towards chaos! For £4.49 you can't go wrong I guess! Will deffo try it at some point I think!
