This product was sent to me for review purposes - I am neither affiliated with Urban Decay, nor paid for these reviews. My reviews are always honest and based on my own experiences and skintype etc - I would always recommend that you read as many reviews as possible on a product prior to making a purchase.
UDPP is a staple in many a makeup bag - the vast majority of makeup fans swear by the formula for holding oil on the lids at bay, hence allowing for a longlasting eye shadow look. I have had a love hate relationship with the original formula since I first bought it - I keep trying other things but always end up returning to it like a cheating spouse (melodramatic much?).
The reason I return? It works. It works on its own, it works underneath MAC paintpots, cream shadows, powders, all ranges, high end or low end. The reason I keep straying? The packaging - I pray that eventually this ends up in a tube. The irony is, that the packaging was what attracted me to this first - I love the "genie" style bottle, but as many a you-tube video and blog post will attest to, the packaging means product can be wasted.
Urban Decay have attempted to remedy the waste problem whilst keeping the cute packaging by introducing an angled applicator. Only time will tell whether this is effective or not... I recieved this product a few weeks back to review, and have been using it on a regularly since.
The original formula always worked well for me, so I was curious to see how/if SIN would be any different in terms of performance and colour.
UDPP in SIN is a shimmering golden shade, as opposed to the nude matte of the original;
This means that this potion can double up as a brow highlighter, which is handy. It also seems to work well under shimmer/satin/pearl finish shadows, intensifying their colour a la original UDPP, but also making the most of their finishes.
I had doubts that this would work as well as the original when I felt it on the skin, as this seems a little "slippier" feeling than the original, and seems to take a little longer to dry, but my fears were unfounded - for me this worked just as well as the original, and kept shadow on well for a good 12 hours.
Verdict - Well worth a try if you are a fan of the original, and fancy a change, or have never tried it before, and are looking for a product that can double up as a basic highlighter.

I will have to give this one a try! I always stick my original b/c I hate to stray when I really love something! I trust you though so I may give it a go!
I totally loved this product...its a staple in my make up bag now. I tried the original one second and don't like it as much - it doesn't seem to take the eye colours as well as sin.
i love this! i just cant understand why UD dont do something about the packaging. surely its worth them putting it in a tube, i think pretty much every customer has said theyd prefer it in a tube, they should listen!
Good to see you like it, it personally looks too shimmery on me and it makes me look like a busted pornstar :(
I wish Urban Decay didn't have this 'we know better' attitude when it comes to dealing with the UDPP packaging complaints. They seem very stubborn.
I love love love UDPP Sin. I mostly wear it on its own as it looks great, but I also use it under some matte eyeshadows that I find boring, and it gives them more of a satin texture. Great product.
I know its a shame, but I cut/saw the bottle open and decant into an air tight pot.
Aaah this is the stuff my sister goes on about. I will need to try it out. Cheers!
Great review, thanks! I haven't tried this one, I think if anything I'll give Eden a try first, seems like it would be more versatile, I don't always wear shimmery lids.
Have yet to try the Sin version, I will definitely though!
The new applicator is not that much of a difference, it looks like sth I could do myself... the packaging still remains a big issue about this product, a squeezy tube would be ideal, they need to eventually get to it!
