Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Skinny Jeans

I picked this up after seeing this fab youtube tutorial from one of my fave guru's Lisa Eldridge. I loved the look she created - really smoky, smudgy and sexy, created with a cream eyeshadow. If you aren't already subscribed to Lisa, you can take a look at her channel HERE.

In the video, Lisa mentioned that she used one of these shadows (she used the shade Strut). I picked up the shade Skinny Jeans, a pewter grey shade;

As always from Benefit, very pretty 50's style packaging, one gripe is that the packaging makes the product look bogger than it actually is - the pot of shadow itself is actually only about half the depth of the box it comes in...
You get 4.5g for £14.

Colourwise, I adore this shade;
I'd describe it as a pewter grey shade with a metallic tone to it, although this is not a metallic shade - it just has a glimmer when it catches the night. It also builds well - this is one layer, but it can be built up more intensely. The pictures here don't really do the shade justice - they look somewhat washed out due to the light, so I'd recommend going and swatching them yourself if possible...

To test the staying power of this product I copied the look in the video;
Products used - Barry M eye crayon in black, skinny jeans creaseless cream, and black mascara, in copious amounts...

I then did about three hours of cleaning - I'm talking washing up, hoovering, scrubbing the bathroom, polishing, lugging binbags out, mopping floors etc - Basically working up a bit of a sweat...

The result? This shadow DID NOT BUDGE... I can recommend this without a shadow of a doubt (pun completely intended)!

Once applied these (I'm assuming that all the shadows in the line have the same formula and therefore work as well as this shade) "set" within 30 secs-1 minute. This means that you can't faff about too much with them - no problem with this look, which is meant to be a bit messy, but if you are trying to create a more precise look, you might prefer something that gives a bit more flexibility.

Despite its outstanding wear capabilities, this was easily removed with my usual eye makeup remover.

These would also work well as a base for powders, and are available in a few more "neutral" shades which would work well for this purpose. There are currently 17 shades available, but look out for limited editions too.

Benefit is available nationwide.

Haha, I saw that vid 2 days ago and thought I'd do it some time this week with Skinny Jeans! (and maybe Artefact on top). Great minds think alike.

Isn't the benefit cream eye liner/shaadow stuff amazing? I told you it didn't budge!

I have it in Strut and I'm addicted to it.

I love that it's easily removed yet stays all day!
