Benefit Sugarbomb....

This was my first ever product from Benefit. True story. I was always put off the brand because of the packaging - especially with the blushers - I never quite got how they could charge so much (£23.50 in this case) for something in a cardboard box... I basically had visions of it getting wet and crumbling all over the place. I have no idea how it would have gt wet, but that was always what I imagined... Some people might see this as an indication that I have too much time on my hands. Not true, I can assure you. I'm just rather pessimistic at times...

Aside from the fact that it comes in a cardboard box, the packaging itself is very pretty, shiny, swirly and pink. The powder itself is split into four colours - pink, plum, orange and peach, and also comes with the standard benefit brush;
It was actually the fact that it was multicoloured which attracted me to this - the tightarse economically astute person  hidden deep within me had a lightbulb moment and had visions of creating a multitude of different looks with one product... Sadly however this is not actually marketed as a blusher, but is actually described as a face powder which you swirl over the face;
This might explain the light levels of pigmentation in the powder - below are all four colours swatched individually...
Pretty pale as you can see... Initially I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with this product - I applied it with a standard, fairly loose blusher brush, with no success, however you get a really pretty result when you apply with a really dense brush (I like a MAC 109)
So overall, I'm in two minds really about this product. It wasn't as amazing as I expected, but then again, it isn't marketed as a blusher - I'm not sure I'd repurchase it, but I will probably use it up. I haven't been put off Benefit in any way, as I think my disappointment here is partly my own fault, and I have also just picked up a creaseless cream shadow which I will review separately...

Do you own Sugarbomb? Would love to hear your thoughts on the product!

I bought Dandelion when it first came out and was just 'meh' about it for exactly the same reason - not quite enough colour to 'lift' my face, but a bit too much to use all over. I prefer the Illamasqua pink pressed powder.

I bought coralista and I had the same thoughts, I didnt see the point in spending so much for a blusher! but I absolutely love it anyway and glad I bought it! I cant wait to see the review on the eyeshadows :) xx

Ooh er, this is one that I really didn't want after it was demo-ed on me. The BeneFit lady actually made me look radioactive because she covered my face in a very thick layer. I'm not very good with BeneFit products in general :(

They're expensive, and I don't own any personally, but they might be more useful for someone who doesn't like strong blush colours? I rarely use blushers even though I keep buying them, they always turn out too strong no matter how lightly I apply them. I'm tempted to get Sugarbomb because it is so lightly pigmented, it might be perfect for me.

I havent got this, but I do have a few other set, powder shadows, cream shadows etc. I think some of the products are great, and others are rubbish (which thy shouldnt be for the price you pay). That is why I always swatch in person (and try to avoid getting sucked in to buying something else.. I said I 'try'!!)

Still in two minds about this one.

Oooooooo, which creaseless eye shadow/liner did you get? I bought Strut a few weeks ago and I love it. This is coming from someone who hates cream shadows as they always, always, always crease on me, primer or no.

They. Don't. Budge. Seriously. You get about thirty seconds before it sets so you better blend and better blend as fast as Speedy Gonzalez. I've worn Strut 13 hours straight with no budging yet it removes easily with eye make-up remover. I want all of them now. $19 very well spent. XDDDD

This is actually the first negative review of Sugarbomb that I've come across, and it's made me totally rethink my lemming it. I'm glad I didnt spend money on something that wont show up >_>

It makes me wonder how much other bloggers have packed up to make it look so fabulous in their reviews.
