Thanks so so much to Cat who tagged me on her blog to do this (and said some very lovely things about myself and some other lovely bloggers too...!).
The tag consists of three parts - first off a shout out to five blogs you love to read and a little sentance or so to say why you love them (these bloggers are then officially tagged!); then tell us five things you love, and five facts about yourself... Seeemples (as the meerkat would say...)
It goes without saying that I love Cats blog, and she's one talented lady (she won the last Illamasqua contest too by the way!), and there are so many fabulous and amazing blogs out there, so I've tried to pick a few I think do something a bit different...
I tag;
LondonMakeupGirl - A lady who appreciates the finer things in life and writes in a thoughtful and thought provoking way - this blogger has recently made me think differently about makeup, and how I purchase it - far better to have a couple of fine handmade chocolates, than a massive mediocre bar of generic mass produced milk chocolate...(although the odd bit of dairy milk is all good!) she has also made me aware of some of the lovely brands out there and some great websites too.
Laura - an inspiring lady in my eyes - Laura has been through a lot of personal issues lately which she had talked about openly on her blog, and she constantly inspires me with her positivity and determination - she is a lot stronger than she thinks she is, and her blog goes from strength to strength!
Gail - Gail may not post as often as some other bloggers, but when a new post of hers pops up in my bloggers list, I always know I am in for a great read. Gail is a very articulate and intelligent writer, whose blog is very well written - in short, she writes like a very good, and ethically untainted journalist!
BritishBeautyBlogger - a blog written by a real beauty insider, who has kept the buzz of dicovering something special, and sharing it with us. I love the way this lady is not scared to break the rules, and I love her style of writing - informative and to the point and with a strong backbone of humour! She isn't scared to break the rules, and I love her for that!
Saskia - a lovely lady who does great posts about makeup, fashion, jewellery and everything related to it - she is a wedding planner at heart too, and I love her blog dearly - she also has a wicked sense of humour, and is just as addicted to pretty things as me!
Five things I love;
1 - "That Friday Feeling" - although in my case, as an NHS workhorse, my days off are not necessarily at the weekend, I love that feeling you get on the day before you have your days off... its like freedom is around the corner, long lie in's, relaxing, playing with makeup and shaking off that ground down tiredness that work punds into you are just around the corner, and a whole world of possibilities awaits!
2 - Living in Enlightened Times - I have been married in the past to man I swear was a total neanderthal and born in the wrong era... the concept of equality was totally lost on him, and I was far too accepting of this situation! Believe it or not, I did all the cooking, washing up, cleaning, ironing, scrubbing, shopping and all the general dogsbodying you can imagine! Needless to say following my divorce I vowed never to allow myself to be treated in such a way ever again - and I am very happy to say I now reap the benefits of living with a lovely man who is more than happy to do his fair share, but I am still constantly surprised by the reaction (even from other women!) that I get when I tell people he does all the cooking in our gaff... its 2009 people!
3 - Making Other People Happy - I love giving people little surprises and in a way this is probably a little bit selfish - I get a buzz out of putting a little smile on peoples faces, whether thats just making them a cuppa or giving them a little something I know they will love... Good karma and a warm fuzzy feeling for me and a nice day for someone else has to be a good thing!
4 - Lovely Food and Drink - there are far too many nice consumables out there to give them each seperate loves - Fresh OJ (With Bits! Always, with bits!), really good mashed potato, yorkshire puds, Wispa bars, Rare steak, sweet potato, roasted squash.... not all together obviously!
5 - Trash TV - As much as I am loath to admit it, I adore trashy telly - Monday is my favourite night due to the soap marathon on UK terrestrial tv (Hollyoaks, Corrie, Eastenders, Corrie ep2... heaven!). My ultimate guilty pleasure is watching awful stuff like Jeremy Kyle in bed with a coffee prior to a late shift... I may need help!
5 Facts About Me.
1 - I very rarely watch the news, which means I often look like a bit of a bimbo, even though I am not at all...
2 - I have a fear of heights - I will never for the life of me understand why anyone would ever think it was a good idea to jump out of a plane with a silk sheet strapped to their back (AKA Skydiving...). Likewise I will never really see the link between trying a piece of elastic to my ankles and jumping off a platform (I believe this particular brand of lunacy is also known as a bungee jump) and the word fun...
3 - My job has made me more cynical, but this is necessary for my own sanity - as I have learnt to my cost in the past, worrying myself to the point of sleeplessness about what patients choose to do while I am not there only makes me depressed and ill... I have now realised that I have no control over other peoples actions and therefore I am not responsible for them (and I sleep a lot better for it!)
4 - I love crafts such as dressmaking, embroidery, cardmaking etc etc, but I don't ever have enough time!
5 - I am looking forward to having a family of my own as soon as it is practical...

Great tag, love read all your fav... but trash TV? LOL!!!
I know some women are the "hub" slave, but the worst is that is the education they give to their soons... No hope!!!
@ Gabriela - thanks hun! I actually think thats what happened to my hub - his mum just did everything for him and so he grew up expecting it too... and yep - trash TV is my guilty pleasure! xx
Awww ya bimbo thanks very much!!! At least you keep up with BB10 news ... its a start! ;)
aw ive got a wee chuffer now (do u know what that is? and no its not something dirty!!!)
@saskia - well it sounds very very rude indeed! Please share!?
I love crafts too! Wish i had the time to make cards and embroider and sew etc. I was surprised to read the bit about you being married before, good on you for believing in equality and not accepting anything less now!
Doesn't BB10 count as news? :D
Thank you for the tag, I'm really touched by your comments
x
PS I thank god every day for Mr London's mum. She made him do his share of the housework as a teen, and he really pulls his weight now. I could not live with a man who considered me a servant!
@xalleycatx - there are not enough hours in the day! Its safe to say my marriage was doomed from the start lol, I will NEVER allow myself to be walked all over like that again!
@GraceLondon - thanks so much for reading the post! I hold my ex hubbys mum responsible for a lot of his behaviour lol - he was waited on hand and foot as a child, a teen and an adult!
I love the five facts about you section. I never watch the news (gasp, an American who doesn't watch/read the news. Run for the hills!!!) either. The only time I have no fear of heights is when I'm on a roller coaster (seriously, I'm a roller coaster addict) or looking out of the window in a plane.
I love crafts. I'm an artist at heart and go mad if I don't do something crafty for long bouts of time. I'm currently in the process of making a patchwork quilt AND crocheting a new blankey for Zena (did I just say 'blankey?' What am I, two?). My problem is I don't know my own limits. I have Cerebral Palsy in my wrists and legs. I went on a fabric cutting binge for three hours last week (cutting fleece, no less) and I paid a deep price for the next four days! My wrists were screaming in pain; even doing my normal wrist-pain routine (put wrist on ice for 20 minutes until wrist and hand are thoroughly numb and very very red, take pain killers, rest wrists, massage wrists AND wear my specialized wrist stabilizing splints/braces) barely took the pain off. I overdid it a teensy bit. You'd think since I've been living with this disorder since I was born, I'd know my own limits but I don't. My splints/braces are quickly becoming my best friends. I think I'm going to have to give them names if I keep beating my wrists up the way I am.
Funnily enough, I've strained, sprained, hyper-extended, bruised, cut, et cetera just about every part of my body but I've yet to break a bone. I'm 20 years old and I--the clumsiest person in all Midwesterndom--have not broken ONE bone in my body. I've never had a concussion either which is surprising as I'm an Epileptic so I've fallen on my head quite a bit. Either I have a very hard head and body or I'm plain lucky. That's your one random fact about Kate of the day.
Great post - it's so nice to learn more about the bloggers behind these fabulous posts. I'm glad you're in a better relationships now, I totally empathize as I have an awful ex of my own. Great read :)
