Guest Review - Scotlass Reviews La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo...

Regular readers may remenber I asked for volunteers to test and review products from this range. I had a great response and two people were picked - Scotlass 99 and LovesGreyBoy..

Scotlass99 (AKA Heather) has given the range a good test out for us, and here are her thoughts;

"A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to be randomly picked to try out some new skincare goodies. I have always had problematic and unpredictible skin, one minute it's fine, next minute it's on a non-stop train to spotsville!

The first product I received was Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel for Oily Sensitive Skin. It came in a mightly 200ml tube and bearing in mind that you need a very small amount, I have around 2/3 of the product remaining (using in the morning and evening). It has a pleasant smell - a fresh, citrusy scent which is not overpowering.

What is says on the tube "Effaclar gently purifies the skin thanks to cleansing ingredients selected to repect sensitive skin. It eliminates impurities and excess sebum leaving the skin clear and refreshed. With soothing and anti-irritating La Roche Posay thermal spring water. PH 5.5. Soap Free. Colourant Free. Alcohol Free. Paraben Free."

My thoughts: I was impressed by this product from my first use. It starts off as a clear gel, then transformes into a bubbly lather. I would recommend giving it a good old massage into the skin which will help the product to really purify the skin. Once washed off, it leaves no residue, and there's no uncomfortable tightness to the skin either. My skin looked clearer and felt mattified and velvety yet hydrated. Although I still had the odd spot with this product, it appeared to clear up more quickly that normal. In a nutshell, I really love this product and the results I have seen with my skin.

Next up is Effaclar Duo Corrective and Uncloging Anti-Imperfection Care. Basically it is a cream-gel moisturiser. I was apprehensive about trying this product as I often develop break-outs with new moisturisers. It has the same scent as the Foaming Gel.

What it says on the tube: "Effaclar Duo is a complete skincare solution that combines 4 active ingredients to act on the 2 major signs of skin with imperfections; severe local imperfections and sebum-blocked pores."

My thoughts: I am in love with this product! It also claims to act as a make-up base due to it's silky, almost primer-like finish on the skin. I have skipped my primer and used this as a base and it does work really well. It certainly appears to have stabilised my skin so that it is less oily and any break-outs I do get seem to clear up more quickly! I will definitely purchase this product when my current freebie runs out.

Double thumbs up from me for these products, which can be purchased at www.garden.co.uk and is also available in larger Boots stores amongst other places. Check out their website at www.laroche-posay.co.uk. I am already coveting several other products I want to try!

I love La Roche Posay, my fav product is the mineral water, much better then others, that are also very good, but something in this one makes the skin care amazing.
I'm sure there is a special mineral in this one you don't find on others or is just in more quantity on this one.
Great review.
Thanks Heather :)
