I'm so upset as I write this as my fave MUA Alex Box is having a book launch of her collaboration with Rankin (second mention of his work this week!) next week, which I was invited to.
For various reasons though(lets just say I am having homicidal thoughts about whoever it was that invented the five week month) I cannot go... I actually could cry!
Anyway, rather than spread my misery, I have decided to show you a few of the images from the book. A picture says a thousand words, and these pics sum up why I love Alex's work, and her approach to makeup artistry (with the emphsis being on the ART)Its hard to pick a favourite from these images, but I personally loved the black and white look - so striking, simple yet complex. I can't help but look at these images and wonder "how did she do that!"
Yes, the book costs £50, but I so want me a copy!

Her work is absolutely mind blowing. I'd love to know how she comes up with these ideas. BIG fan!! Such an inspiration..
The pics are amazing.
Genius, creative, extraordinary and so many words ...
I can understand your bad fellings for miss it :(
Wow that black and white is amazing. The book looks wonderful. Sorry to hear you can't make it, here's hoping another opportunity pops up when you can.

Love the black & white pict, to me it looks like a modern take on Maori's body tattoos. :D
All I can say is WOW

This is true art! Gorgeous! Sorry to hear you can't go to book launch.:(
Akex Box is amazing, we got to go meet her once!!!
Fab blog :) come take a sneaky peek at our giveaway! :) xxx
She's ace - I'd love to own this book. Sorry you can't go to the launch, must be so frustrating!
I'm really sorry you can't make it. I'm doing my utmost to try and juggle stuff so I can get there myself but it's not looking good right now :(
I love all the looks but especially the B&W one.
Sorry to hear you cannot go x
I think I'll buy that book for my husband as he likes that sort of imagery. They are stunning, although the black and white one scares me a bit :O
I love the 2nd image... it's kinda pierrot with an edgier twist. Sorry you can't go :( I understand how disappointed you must be. xx
That sucks that you can't go. :(
Where will this be available from because I'd really like it.
I'm missing the launch party too. Gutted to say the least. What an incredible duo. She and Illamasqua are the first brand, I think, to give MAC a run for their money in a long time. Thanks for the pics. xx JT
She's s got an amazing talent!!!
Thanks for posting this, and I love how the second one is similar to your blog background! :)))
