I was asked to give this novelty little beauty product a whirl by BritishBeautyBlogger - If you don't already read her blog, then I would HIGHLY recommend it - as a beauty journalist, she has some amazing. honest and funny insights into the beauty industry as a whole, as well as the scoop new products... BBB picked these shadows from Sephora on a recent trip to Italy, but prefers to remain faceless on her blog - I "stepped up" to give the shadows a whirl...Avid readers of my blog will know I'm a fan of coloured and/or dramatic makeup. However I do realise that there is a time and a place - natural looks are a must for work for example, and as someone who rarely pops out to Tesco's without a scrap of slap on, I also have many variations on the "five minute face". Its also important to acknowledge that younger/beginner makeup fans might enjoy products that show them basic shadow layouts, so the idea of the press on shadows is fairly appealing for these reasons... I also love trying new and "novelty" products. This does not always bode well (L'Oreal lash explosion springs to mind...)
I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much from these press on shadows - the colours looked a little basic, as did the layout of the shades - ie darker at the lashline and lighter at the top edge - no fancy pants crease-work here...
The product is very easy to use - take out of the pack, press against a clean, dry eye lid for four seconds, and then lift off, then blend with fingers. I followed the instructions - unblended the product looked like this;
I then blended, added mascara/brow powder and this is the finished look;As you can see, the results were pleasantly surprising - the shadows have a shimmer finish, in not unpleasant shades, although it has to be said that after blending, the colours all sort of merged into one...
I also found the pad a little small for my eye (although I do have freakishly large eyes). The layout might also work better on asian/monolid eye shapes
The look is natural and easy to wear. I would expect the thin layer of colour to wear off easily though, and the crease has already faded about half an hour after applying. These shadows are from Sephora, and I'm not sure of the cost, but I'd say these would make great novelty gifts/stocking fillers for less experienced makeup lovers - Ideal for teenagers to play with on a "sleepover" or some such similar shenanigans. I have since found out that these cost £7!!! I would not pay this much for these! I enjoyed trying these, but I doubt I'd particularly seek them out if I ever did get to America for a makeup splurge...
Verdict - a bit of fun, rather than a makeup bag staple...

I've always wondered about these...thanks for the review, very helpful! :)
@EllaMarie84 - Glad it was helpful! xxx
Thanks Mizz for guesting....the perfect post. XXX
@BBB - You are more than welcome - thanks for giving me the chance to try! xxx
I'm not sure about these sticky on things.. You worked it pretty well though :)
OMG!!!!
Is this the lazy make up day? lol
I'm impressed with the result, but is not like having half the fun?
Great post, as always.
xx
@UnicornSmile - They were fun, but for £7 I doubt I'd purchase!
@Gabriela - Lol - yes VERY lazy! Thanks so much for reading xxx
I'm shocked they cost £7! How many do you get in the pack? :) x
hmm i saw one at sephora but i forgot the brand. i was hesitated to buy it because i thought it'll only work better with different types of eyes thats not monolids. thanks for the review tho :)
They were all the rage ages ago in Asia. On my last trip to Singapore I saw some on sale at Sasa, they were only about $4-6 (SGD) for a few pairs. I'm not sure whether Sasa has an online store.
I think Cargo came out with similar thing sometime last year?
i had always wondered about these! Great review.
The one thing that al ways thought about was the fact that you would probably really need to blend after application and less experienced makeup wearer's are probably going to skip that?
Wow, that is gimmick tastic isn't it. As I was reading I was thinking that they would probably be fun for my niece who is 11 and is already loving a bit of eyeshadow (pink obviously) but then I read the cost. Perhaps not. Great review.
Gonna check out BBB now.

thanks for doing the review...I've been so curious about these. I figured they'd be a misplaced looking mess of unblended colours, but I was pleasantly surprised at the results, but not at the price!
I've never heard of these! Interesting...and also slightly insane! Makes me wonder what they'll come up with next!
I've seen a product like this from a brand around here. It's not that expensive, only like $2 but I don't remember how much you get...I still find it kinda ridiculous though. Lol. I'd like to try it but I'm sure it wouldn't be as fun.
AVON do a similar take on these with not much better results :) As you say good fun tho, I'd have loved to have found something like this in my stocking as a teenage girl xxx
@TackyBlueEyeshadow - shockingly, you only get one per box!
@Chommie - I was wondering about that - I just thought because of the shape etc they may work, but I'm no expert!
@Music - I haven't so far seen any cargo, so I'm not sure - I doubt I'd ever but them to be honest now I've played!
@MadameBFatale - Great point - the instructions on the back of the box have little pictures on, so that might help..
@Eliza - hope you enjoyed BBB! XX
@MakeupMama - I agree, they worked a lot better than I expected, but £7!
@Helen - lol, *imagines a press on face*
@Chrissy - tghey are probably the sort of thing you would find fune once, but then the novelty might wear off!
@DressJunkie - really? I haven't tried AVON for YEARS! I keep meaning to look at their website what with the recent anneversary etc... any recommendations? xxx
