What does Skeletor have in Common with a Bride?

... They are both makeup looks I did today!

Yes folks, Day One of the Fashion Face TV course is now completed. And Sam and Nic are both lovely - I was super nervous before I arrived, but they put the whole group at ease and were very friendly and approachable throughout the whole day. I asked lots of questions and I was never made to feel like I was being a pain (even though I possibly was. Most unlike me...)

The "Skeletor" look was actually one of the most useful (and hardest) learning experiences I have ever had in terms of makeup application - basically we used black and white to contour the whole face. It taught me a lot about blending as well as heaps about shading and blending...

We also started to cover bridal makeup, which was fun. The great thing about the course is you get lots of tips throughout on actually setting up as a working makeup artist, and making enough to live on. Bridal makeup is likely to form the bulk of private work for MUA's so I'm glad we are covering this, as well as asian bridal, which is a lot more dramatic. I can't wait to do that! We also got some great hygeine tips and practical information too.

I'm really enjoying the course so far - there are ten of us attending, which is a nice size group. Most of the people on the course have not done any formal training yet either, so its not too intimidating. There are also TONNES of different products to try, so I'm hoping to be able to get a good feel for what products I'd like for my kit.

My favourite items so far - the Louise Young Socket Brush (SO much better than the MAC 226), and also the MAC 138 Tapered blush which made for easy contouring. In terms of products, I've added MAC face and body in white to my ever growing list of kit items, and also really like the MUFE HD primer that was used on me.

@ally- lol, I'm not planning to... Just trying to tell people what to expect, and there's nothing as useful as having feedback there and then anyway is there!
