Boots Number 7 Autumn Range... and a FOTD.

No 7's seasonal/LE collections have consistently impressed me lately, being fields ahead of their permanent counterparts in terms of being on trend, well pigmented and well thought out (Their brushes, in particular the foundation brush are a big hit with me too). The new Autumn collection in stores now, is no exception - as usual the range is designed by celerity makeup artist Lisa Eldridge, who you may know from the TV show "Ten Years Younger" and also from her great you tube channel and blog. This is key to the better pigmentation in the seasonal ranges - I was lucky enough to meet Lisa a while back, and she mentioned that th LE collection production is also overseen by her.

This seasons collection is influenced by bold colours and has a definite tribal/safari vibe about it in terms of packaging, especially the mock snakeskin embellishment on the eye palette, which is also used in the packaging of the lipsticks.

The shadows themselves are very impressive - smooth, well pigmented and blendable. They give a good colour payoff, and the bright colours are great if you like a directional or colourful look. They have a slight metallic sheen to them, and are buildable. Standout shades for me fromt he palette are the orange and purple. The green is also lovely. The blue is fine - I just struggle to wear blue!

An must have from this collection is the new smoky eye liner - currently only available in black, which is a crying shame. These should be released in a variety of shades! The liner is a powder which comes in a traditional liquid liner packaging, and has a sponge tip. Somewhat similar in concept to the Guerlain liners, but this is in my opinion easier to use. It creates a soft smoked out liner, and blends itself as it is applied. Genius! I am hoping and praying that No 7 bring these out in aubergine, copper, emerald and various other shades. I'll be stocking up on these!
There are two lipsticks with the range - a soft nude and a stronger berry shade. The nude is a great peachy nude, with a great level of warmth from the peach tone, to prevent that corpse like effect, which often troubles me with nudes... The berry is a nice option too for this time of year, but I'd definitely anticipate the nude being more popular, just because nudes are often viewed as easier to wear...
The launch of their new mascara also coincides with this range too. If you are into trying different style brushes and you like a plastic rather than a bristle brush, this one could be well worth trying. The brush features three "sides" - a side with short bristles which is good for getting product right in at the root, a longer side with lengthens the lashes, and as an added bonus the end of the brush has a spiky "ball" which enables you to tease out lashes and make sure shorter lashes are coated. I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the ball applicators, after trying Loreal Telescopic explosion (disastrous mascara IMO) but the "ball" part of this wand is very small and non obtrusive. Less of a ball and more of a spiky rounded end if you will. I'd say this is a "wetter" consistency of mascara - but I prefer wetter formulas as they tend to last longer and be less prone to clumping. That's a personal thing though, but worth bearing in mind! Its also nott a very thick formula - again, something I prefer personally

Time for a FOTD... I used the palette, mascara and nude lipstick from the collection to create this...
Will you be picking anything up from this collection?

You look gorgeous, I really love how well the eyes compliment the lip colour. I was more excited for this collection after seeing it on Lisa Eldridge's channel and I was very impressed seeing it on counter and I bought almost everything apart from the nude l/s and matte topcoat. I have a review on this as well.

The nude lipstick looks really good. Must try that. The eyeshadows themselves look special, but I've gone into autumn in my head :-(

Loved how you mixed the colours together for FOTD. Works really well x

Does this palette scream autumn to me? no. but i am still super super impressed. Always found the no.7 eye shadows to be lacking in pigmentation, but this is stunning. love it xx
