Mini Shu Uemura Haul...

I've developed something of an obsession with Shu Uemura of late.
Specifically with the eye shadows.
Then again, I am in love with the cleansing oil.
I am new to the lipsticks, but liking them so far.
I like the painting liners too.
And I hanker after the cream shadows. Mostly because there is a bright red one. I like to imagine I could carry this off...

Their eyelash curlers are a cult item - to me, they pinch less than cheaper brands, but I'm not entirely certain that hand on heart they are worth the £19.09 price tag I paid for them. I have an issue with eyelash curlers in general - because of the size of my eyes they never quite get the outer corner looking as fluttery as I'd like...

I recently picked up a couple of things I've been after for some time...

The eyeshadow (ME RED 160) I'd kept picking up and admiring and then putting back. Then I saw this post by Lollipop26.
This made me realise that the shadow was a necessary part of my collection. That it wouldn't make my eyes look bloodshot... Ah hell. I wanted it. I only needed the slightest of excuses.

Of course, at the point I decided I had to have this shade, Shu Uemura were out of stock. For three weeks.
Have you ever felt like dancing when something you want finally comes back in stock? No? Just me then.

On a serious note, these eyeshadows are fab. They are soft, blendable and easy to work with. Shu make a variety of really beautiful shades, and you can build up a palette (I'm in the process... *sigh*). They retail at £13.70 each. They are lovely.... Quality wise, they fall in between MAC and Rouge Bunny Rouge I'd say. They are mostly satin finish, however there are a few mattes in the range too.

I've been wearing this shade with ME BROWN 850 blended through the crease, with Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeliner in Tigers Eye Essence along the lashline, and lashings of black mascara... I love it.

I also picked up an eyebrow pwncil. The Hard Formula 9 in shade 2 to be precise. Now, I have to say, I am normally a brow powder girl and I love my Clarins palette. Prior to this, I loved my Urban Decay brow box, which is MIA... The problem is, I always want to try everything available just to make sure I am not missing out... HG? The concept is lost on me.

I was slightly concerned that that the MUA on the counter didn't really seem aware of the existence of these pencils, and was even less certain whether it came in different shades. I practically had to teach her about them... She looked like a woman who was unhappy in her work. Probably fed up with patronising mares like me coming up and telling her how to do her job...
Anyway. This is a really rather lovely brow pencil. It is, as the name suggests, a very hard formula. Completely unlike anything I have ever used before. Kohl pencils etc are really creamy. This isn't. If you swatch this at the counter, you might think its a bit rubbish really, as it doesn't swatch very easily on the hand.

But wierdly this low colour payoff works in it favour. It means you can build up your brows slowly and steadily. Its a much more subtle pencil than other brow pencils I have used, both high end and drugstore, which seem to deposit a lot of colour, and scream "hello I have pencilled on my brows today" at passers by.

The colour is great too. The perfect dark ashy brown. No red undertones. Fab. I cant remember the exact price of this. I want to say somewhere around the £12-15 mark...

Love the eyeshadow I picked it up in Covent garden last month and also one of the eyebrow pencils they go on lovely over foundation and powder otherwise if your filling in where there is no hair which I am atm then they can be a bit of a pain to get any color at all. I was in awe in the store and watched a magical guy apply lashes to some woman in about 2 seconds with perfection. I did want a taupe brown shadow aswell but they seamed to be out of stock on several of the other colors.
