I LOVE to relax a couple of times a week by giving my feet a bit of pampering - Mr MizzWorthy has a deep hate of feet, so I try to do it when he's not around lol...
I do this year round, not just in the summer, as I find if I don't, things turn ugly very quicky...!
First of all, remove any polish from toe nails.
Next dead skin removal - I know, not pleasant - but it's very satisfying! I have tried a lot of things to do this - pumice stones, foot files (the ones that look like bit emery boards) and even a wierd spiky clay thing I picked up in the Body Shop years ago - none of these were very effective in my case. I tried a ped egg - it was OK, but I wasn't blown away - you can only use it in one direction to remove hard skin, and in addition, one of the main selling points for this was the fact that it claims to keep the skin filings contained - in my case it didn't.
I really rate the Boots "Gorgeous Feet Fantastic Foot File" which costs a mere £3.49, and is, in my opinion better than the ped egg, as it's multidirectional and easy to clean...After that I apply Lush's "Volcano" foot mask, wrap my feet up in cling film, and chill out for half an hour. This is a genius mask which costs £7.14 per pot. It contains clays to draw out deep-down-dirt, fresh papaya and lemon for cleansing, deodorising tomatoes, astringent herbal decoctions and anti-fungal essential oils. It also contains lots and lots of bit of ground down pumice stone. It cools the feet and makes them feel very tingly and refreshed. After a half hour chill out, I take off the cling film and massage the mask a bit while rinsing it off slowly with a shower - the pumice bits remove any remaining bits of skin and also exfoliates the bits of your feet that you can't use the foot file on... it leaves my feet feeling soft, clean and refreshed, which is no mean feat! (or should that be feet...)
I then apply a fairly heavy duty foot cream to my feet, concentrating on the heels and balls of the feet - I am currently using Scholl Cracked Heel repair cream - I was sent a sample of this to try, and it definitely smooths out the skin on the heels, and is very nourishing and thick - one to apply at night with cotton socks to get the full effect... I also like CCS Footcare cream (£6.99) - neither the Scholl or the CCS are especially glam, lol, no fancy scent, and quite basic packaging, but they both do a really good job.
Next I start to work on my nails - I cut them square with a simple toe nail clipper and file away rough edges - this avoids ingrown toenails, which my sister has suffered from and they are not pleasant. I apply a cuticle remover if I can be bothered (I am using one I picked up in boots called a cutipen, which works ok)
Finally, I apply nail polish. I am prone to wearing a lot of red on my toenails, current fave is Essies Geranium, which needs three coats, but lasts a week... I personally don't bother with a base coat as I always have painted toe nails, so I don't really worry about them getting stained... which is possibly very lazy of me!
Other foot products I love;
The Body Shop Peppermint Footspray
Party Feet - essential for heels (on the rare occasions I wear them!)
Lush's Lemony Flutter - meant to be a cuticle cream, but works great as a heel balm too.
Rimmel "Pulsating" nail varnish.
Any other recommendations?

I love having pedicures. I either get a professional one done, or sometimes I'll do a quick home effort involving a ped egg, lots of foot moisturiser, and painting a nice bright colour onto my toenails.
xx
@Victoria - I prefer doing them myself for some reason - I have really really tickly feet too, and I'm scared of freaking out lol xxx
I hate giving myself pedicures, my feet are awful :( although I have been inspired if I'm honest. I shall have to tidy up my tootsies

@Rosie - Lol - do it! You'll feel all lovely afterwards xxx
I love how a pedicure/feet pampering session can totally make us feel relaxed and prettier! :)
I 'd recommend the Body Shop Peppermint Foot Scrub (I 've gone through a million pots) and the Peppermint Foot Lotion or the Rescue Treatment from the same line...! The Body Shop have excellent foot care products!

I tagged you on my blog! :) xoxo
I really need to pay a bit more attention to my poor old feet and reading your post has definately inspired me to do so!
The foot file I'm using at the moment is rubbish so I think I'll get the one you use as it sounds good. I love the sound of the foot mask too - I defintely think a trip to lush is in order! x
I'm terrible with pedicures, the most effort I make is painting my toe nails! I quite like the idea of the Volcano footmask though, I mightinvest in some and put my feet up on Friday night :)
