As you probably know, Illamasqua were due to hold a bloggers event a couple of weeks ago, but due to the train strikes, the whole thing ended up getting called off sadly... So it was lovely to see that Alex Cummins and the rest of the team at Illamasqua made up for that disappointment by sending out parcels of lovely samples from the new Body Electrics range.
I make no secret of the fact that I am a fan of Illamasqua, so I wanted to share some pictures with you of the parcel and its contents...
Everybody recieved different items in their percel so I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the range... I've also placed an order for one of the body oils, which I'm really excited about too!
I recieved two of the nail varnishes, the big soft body kabuki and *squeee* the liquid metal palette...
First off, I recieved nail varnishes in Force, a deep powder blue shade, and Prism, which is amazing - a pearly white shade with a blue duochrome - I fell in love at first sight with it!
When I got home from work last night my parcel was with a neighbour, and as soon as I'd retrieved it, I couldn't wait to apply Prism. It's a really difficult shade to capture with my somewhat ameteur photography skills, but I did my best...
You can sort of see the blue duochrome effect in the second slightly blurred picture - I wouldn't normally put a blurry pic on, but it seemed to capture the effect of the colour the best out of the 48364854639 pictures I took!
The Body Kabuki is really large, and so super soft - as with all the illamasqua brushes it is synthetic. The hairs are very fine, and the brush is lovely and dense... The perfect size for applying bronzing or illuminating powders to the body.
Finally, I also recieved the liquid metals palette, which I was thrilled about!
The packaging of the palette has a sleeve which slips off the packaging, which carries the design for the Body Electrics range, and inside looks like this;
It contains the three current liquid metals, solstice, enrapture and phenomena, together with the new colour for the Body Electrics range which is a pewter shade. The lid also has a mirror.
As these are a cream product they sometimes have a thin film of emollient on them when new... just blot this off with a little tissue and your liquid metals are good to go...
So, I just wanted to say a big thank you to Alex, and all at Illamasqua... and also, stay tuned for the next competition, which I'm going to be announcing next week!

That was a very nice parcel to get. What a nice thing to do and too bad the event had to be canceled. I wanted to try some of these products but I live in the States...Illinois and we don't have them available sadly. I would have to order from the website and it ends up being very expensive. So I am disappointed because these look amazing!!!!
You have the most beautiful nails ever! And can't wait to hear what the competition is about! x

The liquid metal swatches look amazing!!! :)

Is it wrong that I'm angry at the haphazard/random way these parcels have been dealt with?
For instance, people who weren't invited to the event have been sent and/or promised parcels, and yet people who WERE on the list haven't even had so much as an email or answers to tweets?
Whilst I appreciate why the event had to be cancelled, how Illamasqua have handled the follow-up has really set my teeth on edge - sorry!
That palette is calling me... despite the fact that the full sized Liquid Metals previously held no appeal for me at all. There's just something about palettes, isn't there?
I definitely want Force. Do us an NOTD!
Your nails look awesome! *puts on granny voice* Haven't your nails grown?
I have Force and Prism on the way and I cannot wait to try them out.
I agree with you on the palettes thing, Sarah!
Brb, drooling over the liquid metals palette ;D
Right.... now I'm in love with Prism! Look gorgeous on you. x
I'm not Jealous. I promise. Okay, a massively small amount! that's the best swatch of the new liquid metal I've seen! and that pearl white nail polish...I'm lemming that and I'm not a nail polish girl!
wow!!!! i love the look of the eye shadow palette and the Kabuki brush! i regretted not getting this. now i have to look for it online again. very very nice!
that palette is just so stunning isnt it? Its even good value for money as one would not practically buy all liquid metals individually. And oh my, that nail varnish is gorgeous on you :)
