Drugstore Find - 17's Candy Collection

In my opinion, the definite stand out products from this collection are the "Blush & Glow" highlighter and blusher combos, which are £3.69 each. This comes in Peaches and Cream, and Strawberry Swirl. Initially I only picked up Strawberry Swirl, but roumours that the Peaches and Cream might be a dupe for NARS orgasm got me all curious so I sneaked back and picked the peach version up too... Just for scientific reasons you understand.

So, lets put on our lab goggles, white coats and grab our clip boards and take a closer look shall we? OK - So if you don't want to wear a lab coat, hope you don't mind if I go right ahead...?

So, above we have strawberry swirl... as you can clearly see it's made up of half highlighter, and half pink blusher. Both sides contain some shimmer particles, so if you are anti shimmer, you might not like them;

The highlighter in this duo bears a striking resemblance to another highlighter - NARS  Albatross;

To my mind this is a pretty impressive dupe. Granted it more powdery feeling than NARS, which does feel a lot more creamy, but given that the 17 duo is £3.69, and the NARS highlighter is £19.50 as a single, or £28 in a duo, the 17 version makes a good low cost dupe.

Moving onto the second 17 duo, peaches and cream, which looks like this;

As mentioned earlier, I have heard rumours that the peachy side of this was a dupe of NARS orgasm. So I swatched;

On swatching the 17 product again felt more powdery than the NARS version, but was actually a lttle bit more pigmented surprisingly, however on the skin, there really isn't much to choose between the two swatches. If anything the NARS blush is a little bit pinker than the 17 version. Once again though, a fab dupe for the price. 

Neither blush is as long lasting as the NARS products, but for the price perform well. 

The candy collection also contains an eyeshadow trio* called "Dolly Mixture" which contains three matte pastel shades of pink, blue and yellow, as well as a range of pastel nail varnishes - I was sent the shade lemonade*, which is a pale pastel yellow;

The eyeshadows are matte and therefore a little bit powdery feeling, and less smooth than shimmer shadows I have tried before from the 17 range;

The blue and pink shades swatch well however the yellow shade is slightly difficult to get decent pay-off from. The shadow retails at £4.99.

The nail varnishes* are available in 5 pastel shades - I was sent the shade Lemonade to review

The polish formula is fairly thin. but this works in its favour, as colours like this seem to work best with multiple thin coats - the picture above shows three coats. The finish could be a little smoother, but I'm willing to blame that on my own lack of skills with polish. For a fast fix of a trend colour these are a bargain at £2.99.
