FOTD... And Newly Dyed Hair!

Another quick and easy look today... for some reason everything is rather washed out today on photo's... but hopefully, you get the idea!

I used Bourjois healthy mix foundation, Chanel Bronze Universal (or Soleil Tan De Chanel as its know nowadays... *tut*), and Inglot liquid blush in shade 87 on the face, with The Body Shop Bronzer in Warm Glow over the top of the cheeks. Highlight was MAC msf in Perfect Topping...

On the eyes the Body Shop eye colour in Jade from the "Baked To Last" collection, and a black kohl on the water line. 

On the lips, I have Estee Lauders Crystal Baby - its probably one of my top five fave lippies of the hundreds I have! A definite repurchase!

I also did a quick dye job on my hair today as well - I used a L'oreal Herbashine which I picked up in Boots recently for around a fiver. I have chucked the box away but it was a medium mahogony brown shade and had a picture of Bar Rafielli on the box (I have no idea who she is). The Herbashines are one of those new generation ten minute jobs - non permanent, so you get a shiny refreshed look without damage. Not dramatic but it looks a lot better than it did this morning!

Les Guaches De Chanel

I mentioned in this post a couple of weeks back that I had a bit of a thing about Chanel LE's, and a few people wanted to see more bits from my collection, so I thought I'd show you this - Its probably my favourite and most treasured piece of makeup from chanel, but I have hardly used it because I never want it to run out. I know, I am very illogical!

Les Guaches is supposed to look like an artists paint set, and comes in a metal tin outer case, and contains six tubes - five colours, and one clear gloss, together with a mixing dish and two brushes.

The "paints" are designed to be used on eyes lips or face, and can be mixed/used alone. They are extremely well pigmented - the bronze shade comes out of the tube looking like this;

And it blends out well, whilst maintaining a really great level of colour intensity...

Oh how I WISH Chanel still made these... I can imagine lots of different seasonal sets and colour ranges... perfect, but sadly I doubt they will re-appear...

A Trip Down Memory Lane...

I think I've mentioned a couple of times before both on here and twitter, that my first ever piece of high end makeup was from Chanel - It was an LE eye palette, and it was the start of my love affair with makeup. Before I bought that palette, makeup wasn't really a major passion for me. I had a lot of it, but nothing that cost over £5 - I was all about quantity, not quality. And then I bought my Chanel Palette...

I actually thought I'd lost this palette somewhere along the way of various house moves etc, so I was thrilled when I found it in my storage cupboard the other day - I'm sure the actual makeup itself has long gone off, but it actually has sentimental value for me now... This is the makeup I wore to my 21st birthday, and me and my friends all coo-ed over at uni. Wanna see?

As with the majority of Chanel palettes, this came in a little pouch. I believe the palette was called Le Laque Regard, and I think it came out over ten years ago now!

In the palette there are two shadows - a black and a red, both containing silver shimmer, and a black gloss which could be mixed with the shadows...

For some reason, the red shadow is looking more of a peach in the picture, but let me assure you this is a scarlet shadow!

I doubt I'll ever have the occasion to rock these colours again (for hygeines sake I doubt I'd use the palette anyway), but everytime I look at this now, it makes me smile!
