Pure Unadulterated Joi...

... From the Haus of Gloi!

After hearing a bit of a buzz on twitter, as well as two of my fave blogs - London Makeup Girl and Lipglossiping, about the small USA Husband and Wife run company (She's the creative genius, he runs the business) HAUS OF GLOI, I decided to place a little order...

The customer service side of things was great - the website is really up to date with what's in stock, and my order arrived in around a week, which is great from  the US, although obviously you pay more for P&P...

The first thing I loved when I opened the order was the lovely little thank you note enclosed - I am a sucker for a personal touch...
I also loved the packaging - the labels are so cute, and retro, but not in a cheesy way that looks like a bad immitation of Soap and Glory...

All the products were individually wrapped in tissue paper, and everything was well packaged to keep the products safe and sound til arrival too. All of the full sized samples I had ordered were also hygiene sealed, however I quickly ripped those off so I could have a good sniff of the goodies!

I ordered a couple of full size products from the HoG Halloween line - One of the things I love is that HoG do come up with lovely seasonal products, so there is always something nice to try...

Pumpkin Queen Body Emulsion, was really a "must order" for me, everything I had read on blogs was positive...
As you can see, it sounds good enough to eat, and the ingredients are promising - the entire range is vegan.

This stuff smells amazing - its spicy and wintery but the peach stops it from being too heavy. I wish I'd known about this one before - I'd have stocked up!

I also ordered Parkin Pumpkin Butter..
This one is basically a darker, less sweet version of the Pumpkin Queen, and also being a butter as opposed to an emulsion, is richer.

I'm massively impressed by both formula's though - they both keep my legs feeling smooth and moisturised all day long (not an easy task), and are absorbed quickly into the skin. The delicious scent also lingers for hours too, so you occasionally get lovely wafts of your chosen lotion. In short, I'm in LOVE with both, and will definitely be ordering more. The Yuletide range has just been launched, and features some lovely sounding scents such as Eggnog, Hearth and Snow Wolf, as well as all the regular fragrances.

The range also includes two different types of scrub, as well as soaps, perfume oils and whipped soaps... So I also ordered a sample sized tub of Lavender Sugar bubbling scrub..
I have yet to try this, but it smells divine... exactly how it sounds - French lavender and muscovado sugar... I also recieved a sample of perfume oil in the scent "Aduwa", which was free... The entire order including shipping cost around £17, which I personally feel is well worth it, and based on this experience I'll be placing a lot of orders in the future!

I basically think with this site.picking the right fragrance is key - obviously thats a very subjective thing, so you might want to try a few sample sized pots before buying a full sized on. But once you've picked a scent, prepare to be addicted.

Check out the HoG website HERE.

oooooh I hadn't heard anything about this. I'm a sucker for nice skin stuff (especially since I have less of it now) :-D

Off to check them out x x

parkin really appeals to me. But I can't. I keep getting swept away with indie bath product companies. I have in my cupboards four sets from different brands, of scrub, wash, body spray or perfume. I can't get through them all. I must stop!

I too have seen all the rave reviews about this range but am sitting on the fence a bit - you see being of a certain age I have had my fair share of "homemade" products, heck I even made some myself and all my memories are of strong wheaty smells barely disguised by a smattering of lavender and it all ended up smelling of musty pot purri and swimming in the separation of fat and water. I know that things have moved on in the past 20 odd years but sometimes it is hard to shift concerns. Thanks for the post and pics - you have given me food for thought. Jan x

I'm not very much into bath stuff but I'm a total follower and I'm seeing Haus of Gloi everywhere on the web, so you guys are going to convince me to try their stuff LOL.

I'm also a sucker for the personal touch..I remember years ago when I was a lot younger, I'd get excited to see my name typed up on letter because all I had up to that point was hand written stuff but now I want the handwriting back.

I've heard a lot about these and I can take a better look at them now as my shower supplies are running low for the first time in years.

You are quite some enabler...The labels looks so utterly gorgeous and your description of the scents are sublimely tempting. I like the fact that it is entirely vegan...
