FOTD... Simple Natural Look

As much as I love my war paint, sometimes its just too much - work days and hot weather are never great bedfellows with a full on look, so I thought I'd share a typical day to day look. This is something I'd typically wear on a summery warm day. On a day off, I'd probably wear more eye makeup, but to be honest, heavy makeup in the heat both feels gross on me, and also looks a bit "special FX" by about lunchtime when it starts to slide... Not good!

Looks like I'm not wearing much, and I'm not really, just tried to polish up what nature gave me (yes, turns out you can polish a turd!)...

Products Used;
I applied Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser (I use the lightest shade, nude) with my fingers for a light natural look, and my Laura Mercier undercover pot for under eyes and any blemishes/areas of pigmentation.

I then applied INGLOT liquid blusher in shade 87 to the cheeks and blended out with a MAC 109 brush. Over the top of this, I swept the Body Shop mineral bronzer in "Warm Glow" (full review of the new Body Shop range coming soon by the way!). which added a peachy bronze glow over the top.
I also dusted the bronzer over my eye lids and under the lower lashline with a blending brush, and then used the highlighter from the Body Shop blush in "Petal" below the brow. The camera has washed this out a little...
I also used a random brown liner on the waterliner to add a little bit of definition... defined my brows with my favourite brow pencil from Shu Uemura (mine is a Hard Formula 6 in "Seal Brown"), and for something a bit different used a Sumptuous Colour Mascara from Estee Lauder in "Amethyst".

A slick of 17 Mirror Shine lipstick in "Bee-hive" which is a lovely peachy nude finished it off...
Sounds like a lot of step, but it's mostly stuff I do everyday anyhow... so I reckon this took about 5-10 minutes.
Despite my obsession with foundation, I am really loving tinted moisturiser at the moment - I have two, this LM one, and also Korres Watermelon tinted moisturiser which has an SPF 30 and I also love... What are your current summer must haves?

Gorgeous look, and you have me sold on Laura Mercier's tinted moisturiser: your skin looks incredible! I normally use Clinique's City Block but am looking for a new tinted moisturiser - this could be a contender!

Gorgeous. I know exactly what you mean about a full face in the heat! I tried to get colour matched with the LM tinted moisturiser yesterday but the Nude looked a bit dark. Boo hoo. How do you find the Korres? I wondered about trying it on the lightest shade but was worried it looked a little pink toned?

@Sarah - you are too kind! Partly due to lighting and a good angle from the camera I fear!

@Rhamnousia - Thanks my love! I have been using different skincare and it's made a big difference! Post is a coming!

@Rachel - I really do love the Laura Mercier TM - I apply with fingers for low coverage, but you can also apply with a brush like a typical foundation too, and get more coverage - Its expensive but I love it!

@Modesty Brown - I have reviewed the Korres TM's on here somewhere - they are very longlasting on the skin and also have the bonus of SPF 30 - I don't find them too pink toned, as they are a greek brand, so tend to be olive/yellow based. I do find I have to blend it well, and work fast, but its very good stuff! It has an almost foundation like coverage too - great for a tinted moisturiser!

@Happy1234 - Thank you! I have a post coming up on skincare soon!

@Tugba - Thanks - I think it might be the lighting! xx

Thank you! I'll have a scout about for the review. It sounds like it's just what I'm looking for if it's got more coverage than the Laura Mercier. :)

Turd my arse. (pun intended).

Nonsense.

You've got lovely skin.

I used to love LM TM but since using Chantecaille Just Skin I can't use it. Just falls off my face in this heat...whereas the CH stays put.

@Mrs Hirons - Why thank you! I feel it is down to lighting a wee bit,m but I'm enjoying all these compliments non the less!

I'd love to try some chantecaille - I need to do some overtime in a bad way! The whole range looks fab.

Sorry to correct you, but Porcelain is acually the lightest shade in the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser (I'm wearing it now), Nude is the next lightest.

I think you look really fresh and pretty with minimal make up x

Very pretty natural look! And you're very silly 'polish a turd' indeed! Your skin looks very nice and 'glowy' :)

@love shopaholic- thank you!

@andrea - correct away, that's actually good to know, my spaceNK didn't have that shade but that's great for us pale types to know. Porcelain sounds great for winter!

@LMD - itslove- thank you very much!

@Lillian - just a little self depreciating humour! I like to get a putdown in before anyone else lol x

@lipstick rules- thank you! X
