Makeup and Cakes - a Match Made in Heaven...

What with being on a diet, I've been thinking about cakes a lot lately. An abnormal amount really. It's not something I'm proud of but there you go.

Confession is good for the soul and all that jazz.

I try to offset it with  thinking about makeup instead. So when I saw a picture of this palette it was like all my birthdays came at once and Christmas came 2 months early.

This pretty little thing is the new  LE palette for winter 2010 from premium brand Chantecaille - and at £63 this is definitely premium, but heck Christmas is coming, so I'm thinking, butter up your other half and drop a few hints about where this is available (FYI Fenwicks, Space NK and Harrods), and you never know what Santa might bring you... *looks dubiously at the mister*.

The palette is inspired by those beautiful french macaroons, the likes off which can be found at Laduree etc... They are just one of the myriad variety of confectionary I regularly fantasise about...
In the pallette there is a deep plum liner shadow, a highlighter which can be used on the face and eyes, a blusher, a pale pinky highlighter and a lipgloss.

I'm ashamed to say I've yet to try anything from this brand - it's definitely premium in terms of pricing and design, and I think I worry about developing an unhelpful addiction to yet another premium brand! I'm going to end up going to therapy of some kind to conquer these issues arent I? Or just eating a LOT of macaroons...

Have you tried any Chantecaille? Is it worth the price tag? What do you rate from the line?

Looks lovely, but Eeek at the price. I think that's going to take some serious buttering up! x

I didn't know that trade. Obviously, colours are sensational!! I'd pay it if it's worthy... I pay 18€ for just one MAC eyeshadow, so why not save for this palette?
Kisses!!

Definately swatch before you buy! I had the same obsession with the Becca Bora Bora palette but on closer inspection the pigmentation was lacking and it really wasn't worth the huge price tag xx

I do like Chantecaille, especially their palettes and lip chics, and have my eye on that holiday one, I think its worth you trying one of their palettes at some point, you know for blog research ;)

The pigments and quality would have to be there for that price tag! :-)

Hey, what happened with the Art Of Darkness competition? I haven't seen anyone asking about it, is it just me that doesn't know anything?
