Philosophy Divine Illumination - Love at First Light Ageless Skin Luminizer

Philosophy is not a line I have tried anything at all from. I often get all mezmerised by the presentations about the line on QVC, and think.... "Hmm, that looks good" (especially about the cleansers), but then I look at the stuff I already have and tell myself sternly that I have too many cleansers already etc...

A friend recently gifted me this cream illuminator, and I have to admit, the fact that Philosophy even make cosmetics was a bit of a surprise to me... So as far as expectations went for this, I had none really - and I don't mean that in a negative way. I was just surprised to find out about the product!

Philosophy say....  "This creamy face luminizer instantly smoothes the appearance of lines, evens tone and brightens skin with skin-firming properties and antioxidants, so versatile you can wear it alone, under or over makeup and as a glow refresher"

The luminizer comes in a compact with a mirror in the lid. The packaging is classic but simple...
The product itself is a peachy cream with a fine sheen to it, rather than any distinct sparkle in it...
The fact that the product calls itself a luminizer rather than an illuminator is pretty important here - this is far more subtle for one thing than the average illuminator... In a way, this is what helps with the "anti-ageing" effect.

I have often seen comments on blogs about the power of many illuminators to magnify flaws such as pores (MAC MSF's are often cited as a culprit) and wrinkles around the eye area. They are often a product to be used with caution once fine lines develop.

So as I say, this is a subtle product. In fact the first time I used it, I wasn't sure what to make of it, as I expected the typical illuminator effect, which this gives but in a very very subtle way.

This is less of a glow enhancer or provider, but gives more of a "my skin only better" effect...
It certainly doesn't emphasise pores or fine lines, which is a good thing, just makes skin look more dewy without looking fake in any way.

This product is also free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oil or sulphates.

Philosophy is the best skin care line I have tried. If you get the opportunity to try more products you definitely should! :)

It does look very subtle - being of a certain age, I have to regretfully leave anything too shiney behind, but I need something so this looks worth a try. I too get drawn in to philosophy on QVC but since Lee Bradley no longer is the face of the brand in the UK it has lost its panache somewhat. Thanks for the post and the pics Jan

I've used Philosophy products of some sort for many years. They once carried a full line of cosmetics but discontinued. I think it's only been in the last 2-3 years that they are coming back into the fray. I have to agree with Georgia that their skin care line is very good for the price - esp. with all those QVC sets. Thanks for the review!
