I picked this book up in Tesco's the other day and I've fallen in love with it. It was on offer for £6 at the time, so you may be able to snap one up for the same!
There are also the simpler things which make her happy like a nice milky tea and cake, a clutter free house etc.
The book is laid out like a scrap book/journal and is complete with sketches and narration throughout.
This is not a book you'd sit and read cover to cover, although you probably could. It's one of those books I'd be more likely to pick up and leaf throuh from time to time, and read a section which takes my interest. It also serves as a good reference book - with a concise index in the past.
In a way, a lot of the experiences in the book are unrealistic for someone like me to ever achieve. Obviously I can't just go and spend a day with Viv, and I have to prioritise painting the house over bobbing over to Paris to sit about tasting Macaroons. But that's in a way the beauty of books like these - they give you dreams!
Do you have any books like this that inspire you/make you dream of better things?

I love this book too! I also really want one (ten) of those macaroons. I can beat you on price however...I found this book in Poundland for one shiny pound! It was a frickin' steal especially as I visited Topshop just afterwards and it was in there for a tenner!
I have both her books and love them equally, in the most part for the amazing covers, the first one is an embossed velvet sort of wallpaper finish and the second one is such a brilliant gold. My only gripe is that they are so jam packed full of little nuggets of info that I can't concentrate and find my eyes skidding about all over the page trying to take it all in which is a bit exhausting. Thanks for reminding me how great this is. Jan
The cover is beautiful! :)
I have lots of books that inspire and make me dream. Makeup wise: Bobbi Brown makeup book never fail to provide inspiration when I feel I'm getting into a rut.
As for dream-makers, I like CS Lewis' Narnia, coffee table books with fantastic travel photos, and cooking books with yummy pictures. I suppose I have to include my music books, too, as source of inspirations (and frustration, depending on my mood....LOL)
Looks like a interesting read - will have a look for it :). How are you?
i have the original goddess guide and just adore it!!! x
Ohh I have this book! I adore it! I bought it from Poundland because it looked pretty but I read it and soon went back to pick up another for a friend. I love flicking through it with my morning coffee.
