Review - Garnier 2 in 1 Tinted Eye Roll-on

This product was sent to me for review purposes.

Garnier's new eye roll on is the follow up to their caffeine eye roll on, which comes in a green tube... this one promises to combine the refreshing effects of the original with a tinted mineral based concealer, meaning a two pronged attack on bags and dark circles.

This is available in two shades - I was sent the lightest, ie "Fair Skin Tone"...

The active ingredients in this are Caffeine, to stimulate, and Lemon extract to clarify.

I have used the original version of this roll on, which I found was nice and refreshing - a pick me up rather than a long term solution to bags though. The same can be said here - the product combined with the roller-ball action feels nice and refreshing...
As for concealing properties, a picture speaks a thousand words...
Above - Eyes before using the roll on...
Above - Eyes "during" the application...As you can see, the product is actually surprisingly pigmented.

Above - Eyes after patting to blend (NB, product only applied to the left eye)
I was actually pleasantly surprised by this product - I had visions of a very watery coloured product which wouldn't actually conceal anything. While it's not a concealer per se, more of an under-eye brightener, like its predecessor, it feels refreshing (although ever so slightly less refreshing than the original one - probably due to the fact that this has concealing ingredients in, meaning that there is less room for the refreshing stuff...), which is a good thing for that mid-afternoon tired eyed feeling. Its also a convenient size for popping into your handbag.

In terms of its abilities as a concealer, I would say this is a product to top up with rather than to use as a stand alone under-eye concealer. I'd apply my regular under-eye concealer in the morning, then pop this into my handbag for touch ups during the day. Also, a look at the ingredients list reveals that the product contains alcohol, which would firstly make it unsuitable for those with dry skin around their eyes, and also those who are concerned with ageing - the alcohol will dry out the area, and make it more wrinkle prone...

Verdict - Good to carry for top ups rather than your regular under-eye concealer.

Great review! Been looking at this since it came out. Might just get the original first to see how I like it.

I find the original one stings the skin around my eyes when its first applied...saw this one not sure if it would have the same effect though.???

I love how it seems to be a fairly decent concealer, though the alcohol in it is a bit of a worry :X
