Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and Concealer

After recieving an invite to the Bourjois event last Saturday, and being unable to attend, I realised I had two choices - I could either sit and cry, or go and have a gander at the nearest Bourjois counter... After having a bit of a cry, and realising that no-one really cared, I went to the nearest Bourjois counter where I picked up a few bits, including this beautiful powder, and a their new foundation and concealer duo - Healthy Mix.

This is one of two new foundations on the Bourjois stands currently - the other is a matte mineral mousse. I prefer a less matte finish, so went for this one. The smell of the samples also appealed - it has a lovely fruity scent, but that does wear off following application.

The foundation retails at £10.99 for 30mls, and contains fruit extracts for "radiance boosting". The foundation contains apricot extract for radiance, melon extract for hydration, apple extract for its anti-oxidant properties and ginger extract for energising. Thankfully, you can't smell the ginger, which would really put me off. It has a fresh apple-melon type scent, and as mentioned, this does fade when applied. It's available in a few shades, but may not cover some black skin shades
The foundation is oil free, promises to hydrate whilst providing a semi-matte finish and up to 16 hrs coverage.
It comes with a hygienic and convenient pump, always good for reducing mess and waste...
I find for my skin, one pump of foundation is enough for the whole face. As this is slightly matte, I like to apply a moisturising pimer (Embryolisse works well for me) first, and then buff this in on top, with a flat topped kabuki. On my skin, I find this gives a good amount of medium level coverage, and evens out my skin tone well.

When first applied to the skin, this can feel a little bit like its "sitting" on the skin, however after a couple of minutes it sinks in, and looks really lovely - naturally flawless and satiny. It does last really well too - I get a full working day out of it without the need for any touch ups. I haven't tested it out for the full 16 hours, but I have no doubts it could do a good 12 hours on my skin without shifting...

This is a big winner for me, and a definite repurchase.
The Healthy Mix Radiance and Anti-fatigue concealer retails at £6.99 for a 10 ml tube, and is available in three shades. It contains apricot extract for radiance, and Raspberry for circulation boosting properties. It comes in a simple squeeze tube with a nozzle;
The concealer does a great job on blemishes, but is also light and moist enough for doing a reasonable job for under eye circles too;

Have you tried these? What did you think?
Please bear in mind different skin types will react differently to different products...

That looks quite good, are you the lightest shade in the foundation ? Wonder if it will run too dark for me. I've got to go to Boots tomorrow so will check it out. Thanks for the review.

I really love Bourjois and I want to try that concealer, I have so many foundations that I am loving at the moment so no need for a new one for a little while. But what really shocked me was your undereyes before concealer, you hardly have any dark circles at all I am super duper jealous, any tips? x

Hi Mizz Worthy. Thanks for your post. I definitely liked how the makeup looked, it really evened out your skin. I am going to a Bourjois event this Sat to have make up done, probably buy some things and will post soon. I used to buy Bourjois when it was available at Sephora a few years back. I think it is a good line for the money. We will have a brand new look soon so check us out. All the best.

I love a matte finish, i'm going to have to go and see if the mousse comes in a colour remotely near my skintone :P

I had a play with the testers of these in Superdrug yesterday. I have been put off Bourjois face stuff in the past because it often has a bit of a cloying "grandmother" sort of smell, but these are indeed nice and fruity-smelling.
