I must admit, I don't often take much interest in the Number 7 range, but something about this collection caught my eye - it just looks very fresh and pretty. I was also interested in the illuminator powder... I love illuminators, and I am always interested in trying more...
And I am so glad I stopped to swatch - for me, this is the definite stand out product in this collection. I also picked up one of the two lipsticks in the collection;
The illuminating powder comes in a plastic compact with a marble effect lid, and is a baked, mineral powder;
The powder is a beige based golden shade - not too brash, but still casts a nice glimmer on the skin. Close up, the powder looks like this;
The powder has a nice level of pigmentation - this was just one swipe across the surface...
It gives a subtle glow when applied to the skin and buffed out...
This hand-swatch shows the effect of the illuminator more clearly. Its so pretty - Illuminating without any horrible glittery bits...
I also picked up one of the mineral lipsticks from the collection - there are two available, carnelian, a peachy nude, and the shade I chose Rubellite. Both are very glossy, and slightly sheer - so although the colours look a little "pow" on the tube, they are a lot more wearable than they appear..
Rubellite is a sheer hot pink with shimmer, rather than frost...
For some reason, every time I tried to photograph this, it looked more peachy than pink, but I can assure you, this is a hot hot pink shade - might not be right for now, but I can definitely see this being one of my fave's in the summer, in combination with dewy skin, and minimal eye makeup...
The illuminating powder cost £13, the lipstick £9.50. The collection also contains a palette of four mineral eyeshadows, which is also £13.
As a side note, Number 7's LE collections are all designed by the rather fab and lovely Lisa Eldridge - She first came to my attention on Ten Years Younger, as well as various other shows, and has also worked with Shisheido, many Celebs and also recently, on a fab shoot for Vogue...
She has a great YouTube channel as well, with loads of great tips and tricks - check it out HERE. I love her "Morning After" makeup look tutorial...

Having seen Rebecca's No7 spoils in the flesh and had a swipe of the highlighter, I was really impressed. The packaging is also gorgeous. Are they going for a D&G dupe with that lipstick case or what!

I LOVE THAT HIGHLIGHTER!!!! I got a backup and never want to run out. It is way better than an MSF I ever tried - highlights without making pores look huge. Great GWP on at the moment too! x
