FOTD - Hot Lips and Rude Cheeks!

As you may have guessed by now, for me, neutral looks are for worktime... days off are playtime where make-up is concerned!

So, on the very last day of my 20's, I (hopefully) rocked this look...

Of course, my fabulous camera has done it usual magic and washed out a lot of colour from my already pale face haha, but hopefully you get the idea!
To do the eyes, I basically recreated the look in this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1XXTZGwQ1g
I even used the same colours haha - Savage, Slap and Dizzy...

I'd now like to introduce my new love - Illamasqua cream blush in "Rude"... This has been described (by the lovely Bubblegarm) as a cream version of Gina by NARS... I don't actually own that, but I do own Orgasm... If you can imagine that in a cream formulation and without the shimmer, then this is what you might have!
It is a lovely, suits everyone shade - I love the natural sheen these cream blushes give, like a very subtle glossiness to the skin, without a hint of oiliness... I dab this on with fingers and then blend out with the foundation brush I've used earlier to apply my base... this way I find I build up colour in a controlled way... This can be used to give a really natural look, or built up to a really lovely dramatic look, depending on your mood... I went for subtle today as I was planning on drama with the lips. (the other thing I love about these cream blushes is that they can be dabbed onto the lips as an impromtu lippie!)
I also used a small amount of Illamasqua powder blusher in "Intrigue" as a highlighter both on the browbone and the cheekbone... At first glance, a matte white powder sounds like an odd choice for a highlighter, but this works great for adding a highlight without adding shimmer...

To finish the look off I used an intense lip gloss in "Frenzy", a gorgeous deep pink with raspberry tones... OMG, this gloss last so well! I went out shopping and forgot to take this with me, returned home and the colour was still there, no smudging or melting or all those other things that usually go with highly pigmented lipglosses...

What do you think?

@Steph - thanks so much... I think I thought when the big 30 cam around I'd have to stick to safe colours, but I actually have no intention of doing that - I'm going to be a crazy old lady wearing purple lippie one day! lol

@Dressjunkie - Thank you! Frenzy is lovely, and I actually think it's really wearable too...

At the risk of sounding like a stalker, I think I saw you on the Illamasqua counter...about a week ago...last Friday? I was looking at some goodies and I think you were getting your make up recorded, alas I couldn't say hello because the boyf was dragging me towards the food. :)

@Cosmetic Candy - LOL, you probably did see me there! I was there at about 8pm for about an hour and a half doing the recording with Rachael - we had a right laugh as it was her first time doing the recording thing and she forgot to turn it off at the end so there is about five minutes at the end of the DVD of us messing about with our hair and fixing lippie etc! She did a really cool look for me too, it was loads of fun! Such a shame you couldn't come and say Hi! Maybe next time! xxx
