I picked this foundation up a couple of weeks ago at my nearest Boots for £5.99 - it is on special offer at the moment, and will normally retail at £7.99...
The foundation comes in five shades - Light Porcelain, Nude, Sand, Fawn, and Sun Beige. A distictly narrow shade range, which doesn't cater for women of colour unfortunately... No prizes for guessing which colour I chose (Yup, the lightest, ie Light Porcelain... but there really is no prize if you guessed correctly....).
You get 14g of product, and it has a 12 month expiry.
As far as I am aware this is now available in Boots. Superdrug and various supermarkets now....

The foundation comes in a screw top shallow jar, the "lid" section screws off, and clicks open to reveal an application sponge...
I have a feeling that for the foundation to have this property, it may contain some kind of wax derivative...
The sponge provided is pretty thin, and I decided against using it, as I often find sponges apply cream foundation too thickly, and can make it look very mask-like... obviously that's a completely personal thing... I actually used a flat top kabuki buffer brush (my Sonia Kashuk Space NK sale special...to be precise...), and applied this by tapping the brush lightly on the surface of the foundation, stippling onto the face and then buffing in.
A little of the foundation goes a LONG way, and results in a low-medium coverage, although is buildable, but I felt it looked more natural applied lightly, with concealer covering any blemishes.
The foundation provides a creamy looking dewy finish - If you are after matte, don't bother with this one...
For the first few days of using the foundation, I was actually really impressed - after the disappointment of the other "Dream" products, I finally thought Maybelline had got it right...
I personally loved the dewy finish this gave - a light dusting of powder in the T-Zone was enough to set it nicely, and on my dry skin, it lasted really well - at least a full day at work, and beyond. It felt nice on the skin too, leaving it feeling nice and soft, and for a cream foundation felt surprisingly light, and was easily blended.
If you were sensing a "but" coming, you were right - unfortunately after about 4 days, I noticed I was starting to get a breakout - I perservered with it, but each day it seemed to get worse. I was really disappointed... I'm guessing this may be due to either the ingredients, or the foundation may just be simply too heavy for my skin, as was suggested on Twitter the other night...
I'll probably use this occasionally until it is used up, but not often enough to break out, because as I say, I really like the look and finish of the foundation, but the breakouts, I can totally do without...
Verdict - Proceed with caution, especially if you have sensitive or breakout prone skin. Not great for matte lovers, on my skin, resulted in a long-lasting dewy finish.

Yikes, the second ingredient is Dimethicone, no wonder you had a break out :/ Looking at the ingredients list, it's full of pore clogging "goodness". Too bad, because it sounds like it could have been lovely :(
You have no luck with Maybelline huh? lol
Jen I think your skin is a snob! :P It only likes v.expensive products!! Rouge Bunny Rouge.. for example.. v.expensive and I bet your skin would love it!
The maybelline is great on my skin MERCIFULLY no breakouts or id cry!! Its so slim it fits in my make-up bag and takes up no rooms so im getting attached.
xx
@Suzy - I need some kind of science degree to even begin to interpret this ingredients list lol!
@Tali - LMAO - I know, you are so right - My skin has seriously expensive taste - I'm gutted though, as I really liked this one!
Maybelline foundations are nice, I used to use DreamMatte mousse (that's before I splurged on Chanel and got trapped in a foundation rut)and this one is tempting but I think I'll pass because I found Maybelline fndtn tend to transfer a lot.
FYI, sice we share the same passion for foundations :-) the next best thing to try is the new Bourjois with fruit ingredients!
This stuff is exactly the same as Max Factor's liquid illusion foundation by the sounds of it (which I have always loved) - even down to the packaging!
Lovely review as always :-)
xx
Great review:) I had a quick look at this in Superdrug yesterday but managed to walk away. Yay me!! After your review I'm felling the need to walk back and get it lol
Too bad you broke out because of it. I still haven't bought any foundations yet because I'm nervous I'll get break outs. And since my skin is oily I think I'll pass on this one. Great review, thanks!
Lovely review!
I really wanted this but the shades are so light and mostly with pinky undertones! I had a play with the testers and I love the consistency. It's a shame it broke you out, I've always found with Maybelline foundations (all liquid ones and mousse) to be really good =).
I hope they bring other shades for coloured women.

aww too bad! Looks pretty cute though and I have dry skin too but would skip this one as I would not fancy breakouts :S
Aww I'm sorry this one broke you out! But great review though, thanks for it!
Nice review lovely, but its a shame that Im gonna have to give this a miss due to my oily skin :( x
Aww i'm sorry it didn't work for you Jen! I'm not prone to breakouts myself and would quite like to try a dewy finish, as i never have before, but i doubt with such a limited number of shades i doubt they'd be one close enough to my skin.
I walked into Boots yesterday and was met by 4 teenage girls screaming ''oh my god oh my god its out oh my god oh my god how lush" at the maybelline stand!! i guess i always overlook maybelline foundations as its what i used to use 'back in the day' when i was young! But i did love dream matte mousee- i might go test this tomorrow, hopefully minus the screaming girls haha! thanks for the honest reivew x
