Well, I am now a fully mature and grown up 30 years old (Yeah Right!)
As I mentioned, my lovely Mum, Sister and Aunt all arranged a special surprise for me on Saturday to celebrate this momentous event.... I was given an additional gift by my boyfriend that morning which I wasn't allowed to open until I arrived at my Mums that morning... All very mysterious!
When I arrived I was greeted with a little bunch of lovely pressies (birthday haul details to follow!) and I was told to open my extra gift, which turned out to be my own swimming costume... my suspicions were confirmed... an afternoon girly Spa session had been organised for me!
We arrived at the Portland Hall Spa (
http://www.portlandhallspa.com/ if you fancy a browse!) at around half one and enjoyed an hour or so in the fab Spa pool and sauna area, munching on fruit skewers and having a good old relax. Once we managed to work out how the controls on the spa pool worked, it was total bliss... of course the dimmed lighting and abundant candles were helpful too!
After this we enjoyed a lovely Moroccan Rassul Mud treatment - this was actually really good fun! We did this in pairs (me and my sister went first and then my mum and aunt followed... We were shown into a room which contained what looked like a very large shower cubicle type of thing with seats built in... Inside the cubicle were several bowls of mud, each for different parts of the body - face, chest and arms, tummy, legs and back... We basically smeared ourselves and each other with the muds and then sat down and let it work its magic, while relaxing backround music was piped in and steam slowly filled the cubicle too. As with all mud mask type treatments, this is meant to be an excellent detoxifier. After steaming away for approx half an hour, a gentle shower came on and washed us all clean. I felt like my skin was really soft after this - my sister has super dry skin and she felt like she needed to put some moisturiser on afterwards. I have to say, it does seem to have sped up resolution of some of my "hormonal breakout"... Anyway, here is what the mud treatment room looked like...

After this, we went into another room and had an Elemis spa massage, which was just lush! I felt so blissed out and relaxed after this... all my tensions melted away. I have always been a fan of massages, and think they are just the ultimate luxe relaxation treatment - this was a great one!
Lol - obviously not me, but you get the point!
After all this I still had a choice of one more treatment to have... As the Spa has a hairdressing salon, I decided to go for a long overde haircut... Nothing exciting really, justa shoulder length bob, slightly shaped at the back and also had mys ide fringe re-cut. I can't show a picture right now as I tied it back for work so it's looking grim right now...
I had an amazing afternoon and felt soooo relaxed afterwards... I then went home and got ready for my night out. Myself and my partner, mum and dad, sister and her BF, aunt, cousin and cousins partner all went to "Chili Banana" a fab Thai restaurant in Liverpools Lark Lane area, and totally pigged out on the most amazing banquet. We then made our way to Negressco, a cocktail bar/drinking hole on the same road, and enjoyed a couple of cheeky cosmo's before closing time... I can't post any pics as all the ones taken were with family members who asked me not to publish pics of them. I wore a maxi dress from Monsoon, and my makeup featured Solstice and lots of teal blue on the eyes, Cream Blusher in Rude and peachy lips...
So, tell us about your Spa experiences? I definately want more more more, so please let me know any treatments I MUST try...
