Hmmm...

Anyone else feeling slightly over-hyped about the MAC Hello Kitty collection?

I feel like every guru on you tube has covered the collection really well.

Then I saw the fabulous dupe video that Emma/magpie sparkles did, duping the HK look without using any HK products... I'm starting to think I might not be too gutted about not getting much from this collection - maybe it's suffering slightly from its own hype?

I don't know what you think, but some of the recent MAC collections have actually been quite disappointing to me. The one I've liked the most (The Creme Team collection) was actually the one I expected to like the least. In the meantime, collections that SHOULD have been fabulous (Dame Edna anyone? No thanks!) just were not. The BBR collection had great potential in theory, but in my honest opinion the only things worth buying were the brushes and the MSF's - evidently others agreed as these are rapidly selling out near me...

Is anyone else feeling like this? Am I actually just turning into a narky old fart lol?

All comments welcome!

I totally agree - I started out with a huge list and wanted everything but the more videos I Emma did a great job of talking me out of any of the shadows. I may buy the blushers and the pink fish but that is probably all. I hate that we are so long after the US getting things as the hype has worn down and you just feel blaaaaah about the collections when they do come out!!!!

Honestly, I feel the same way. I had a pretty big HK haul but I feel like I bought it for the fact that it's HK, not makeup I can't live without. I wasn't excited for Dame Edna (I didn't buy a single thing) and the Chill collection didn't win me over either. BBR had some good stuff, but fell short of my expectations. I am SUPER excited for Sugarsweet and I really hope it doesn't let me down! I really want to be blown away by a MAC collection this spring/summer. The girl at my local MAC told me that she's really excited for Naked Honey and Style Warriors. We'll see! =]

I agree that HK is over rated. I was so excited for this collection to come out but agree with you that I am sick of seeing stuff about it. I ordered the brush set and a blush. Neither wow me, and I am really disappointed with the brush set. I am returning it without even using it...just is not worth my 50 dollars. I am looking foraward to sugarsweet ocllection but I hope it doesn't disappoint like this one has.

I TOTALLY agree! MAC has been lame lately. I did like the BBR collection though...got 100 Strokes, Top Knot, and Flip e/s; Marquise D' lipstick; aaaaand the 226 brush? I think. Missed out on the MSF's :( But other than that I'm so tired of MAC it's not even funny. I've also decided that I'm not even going to bother with their new collections anymore. I'm tied of buying things and having them be limited. Then they'll re-release products but it's never what I want lol! I need a new Blue Strom eyeshadow! So anyway...you're not the only one.

I'm really not excited either, I'm just not sure the colours are very 'me'. I'm tempted by the brush set, just because I think the sets are often better value- really wishing I had got the holiday sets though not HK!

I think I'm more excited about the more grown up collections coming out this year - I have decided to collect MSF's so I'm extremely excited about the sugarsweet collection. I'm not ruling out buying stuff from HK, but I won't be like just buying it for the sake of it at all - In the palettes most of the colours are too loud for me...I like the look of one of the lipsticks but thats it really.. xxx
